With the implementation of near-field communication boards (NFC) installed in certain products offered by Mingledorff’s, the use of apps is extremely important to use in the field.
Mingledorff’s Technical Service Team recommends that you download the app(s) that is most convenient for you according to the brand of your mobile device or tablet.
By pointing your device’s camera at the QR code you choose, your device will give you the option to open the app store to download your app and thus be able to communicate and interact with that component or system. The use of smart devices with wireless or NFC helps the service technician become more effective in the field diagnosing service-related issues.
The service technician in the field will come across a furnace with a diode light on the board indicating a specific fault code that the furnace is having a service-related issue. It can often be overwhelming to the service technician, since the speed and duration with which the light is blinking to indicate the fault code is especially important and, in some situations, it is not easily understood what the fault code represents.
To resolve any problem, we first must know what the problem is and once we understand it, we can take the necessary actions to resolve the issue. Please review the video of an NFC furnace board with a code that you often have trouble understanding.
As you watch the video, the NFC board is flashing the LED code with three short flashes followed by one long flash. As a reminder, each status code is a two-digit number with the first digit determined by the number of short flashes and the second digit by the number of long flashes. The service technician can now review the service label available in your installation manual or on the decal attached to the furnace. The manufacturer recommends how important and necessary that the service technician always follows and understands the instructions described in the service instructions on how to follow the troubleshooting sequence and the steps on how the flashing LED represents a fault that the furnace is having.
The first digit of the error code is indicated by short blinks outlined in yellow. In practice as we reviewed the video are the times that the light is on for a noticeably brief period in such a way that when it flashes at a fast speed or seen in another way a noticeably brief time would be our first digit. The first digit is simply one, two, three extremely fast.
The second digit of the codes is indicated by the long blinks, In the video the service technician can see how the LED takes a little longer compared to the first digit. So, when the light is emitted for a longer period, it is the indication of the second digit.
By viewing the next video, we will be able to indicate what the code is?
Remember, just as we did with code 31, to understand code 13, it is necessary that the service technician use the same procedures to determine the code 13. The first code is the one that is the fastest, then it is determined that it is one, since it is the fastest, and the second digit is three, since the duration of the light is longer.
It is especially important that the service technician understands the codes that the NFC or other control boards are indicating so that the issue for the homeowner isn’t mis-diagnosed. If the flashing sequence is not followed correctly, as the videos are shown that the code 13 or quite different as for the code 31. Code 13 indicates a possible limit issue where the code 31 indicates a possible pressure switch issue. With the correct code is obtained the service technician can focus on the prompt and correct solution for the customer.
When the service technician comes across other fault codes on a control board with LED indicator lights or you are in any other situation, simply find or download the product/service manual on your device using one of our APP’s. Review the instructions as we did here, and you will find that the troubleshooting process will become simpler to resolve the customer’s issue.
