The Importance of Maintaining Vacuum Pumps With Oil Changes
Maintaining vacuum pump oil and changing it regularly is very important—especially in HVAC work. Here’s why it matters and what
It is very important this time of year for spring maintenance for the air conditioning system.Proper annual maintenance will help the life of the system and efficiency of the system as well as find potential problems helping prevent breakdowns.
You can use the check list below for your Spring Maintenance routine.
Let’s start with the indoor unit. Change filters, clean out drain lines, and check all electrical connections by taking volt readings and amp readings on the blower motor. Then, inspect the evaporator coil and make sure it is clean.
Moving to the outdoor unit, it is very important to check and verify proper operation and cleanliness of the coil. Check the line voltage going to the unit as well as all electrical connections. Check the contactor and capacitor and be sure to check amp draw of the compressor and outdoor fan motor.
Lastly, always check the charge of the system. Check the pressure on both liquid and suction and the superheat and subcool of the system. If you want to clean the unit, start by cleaning any dirt and leaves from the inside of the unit. Clean the conditioner coil with a good, recommended coil cleaner and water solution and rinse with fresh water.
