Setting up a wi-fi controller is a task sometimes but the information provided will help speed this process up. The information will show you step by step the process to setup an Ion Controller up.
Connecting the Ion to wi-fi will allow the Ion Controller to update OTA (Over The Air) when a new version of software is released. Also, the controller will have the local weather for lockout temperatures if there are any set.
The home router connection and the server connection can be checked by pressing the wi-fi signal on the top right of the screen. This is the Remote Access Status. To establish a wi-fi connection to an Ion Controller you will need to connect to the home router or a hot spot. You will need to know the name and password to the router.
2. Make sure the wi-fi connection is enabled.
3. Select Setup a wi-fi Connection – this will begin the connection process.
4. Next select scan for available access. The next screen will show the SSID routers. Select the customer’s router.
You should have a check mark next to the router you choose. Click next.
If a Wi-fi Network security key is shown as in the picture below enter the key and press Next.
The Iron Controller will inform you if the wi-fi connection was successful. Click Done
